Kangatraining is a global fitness movement, supporting mums to engage in fun, dance-based workouts with their babies at their side (or in a carrier!). We’ve known the Australian country leader, Brooke, since before she took on her role with Kangatraining Australia — having worked with her on other projects and built a strong friendship as new parents! When she asked us to create a local version of the site, we were delighted to be involved!
The Project
Although the Australian Kangatraining information and trainer profiles were listed on the global site, this site was outdated and wasn’t providing the kind of user experience that would support visibility in search engines, or strong conversions. To ensure continued growth of the Kangatraining brand in Australia, it made sense to create a localised .com.au website that fit the brand, was easy for parents to navigate, and provided trainers with enough functionality and flexibility to support the booking process.
The Solution
We designed and developed a WordPress website that captured the fun and feminine nature of the Kangatraining brand. This site included detailed class description pages, media features, videos, photo galleries, testimonials, info on becoming an instructor, and general information about the brand.
We planned the site sections and layouts, then the client opted to write their own copy to fit the design.
But the key functionality is the “find a class” page, where users can easily search for classes and trainers near them using a location search, zooming in on the map, or filtering for specific classes. Users can then click on a trainer or class location to open up the associated trainer profile, with a bio, photos, class info, booking links/calendars, and contact info. Users can also find trainers via the “trainer directory” page using search, a state/territory filter, or class type.
These trainer profiles are managed by each individual trainer via a log-in to the backend of the website, giving the trainers flexibility and autonomy to update information, photos, booking/payment methods, and contact methods at any time. We provided the trainers with a dashboard that houses login links, training videos (so they can confidently self-manage their profiles), FAQs, and a form to submit support/feature requests.
